Bulgarians: Consume large amounts of yogurt, grains, cereals, and vegetables, with limited meat, poultry, fish, and eggs. The lactic acid bacteria in yogurt prevent the growth of toxin-producing bacteria in the small intestine.
Canadian Indigenous Peoples: Although plant-based foods are scarce, tribes who live by fishing and hunting remain healthy because they consume certain mineral- and vitamin-rich tissues from animals and fish. Iodine comes from the thyroid of male moose, vitamin A from fish heads, and vitamin C from adrenal glands and the tips of pine and spruce trees.
The Masai of Africa: These nomadic cattle herders primarily eat cow's blood and milk, sometimes with a little beef. They frequently engage in moderate to strenuous physical activity.
Mormons: They abstain from tobacco, alcohol, coffee, and tea. They eat whole-grain products, fruits, vegetables, and limited meat, controlling their intake of potentially harmful foods. Many Mormons over 80 or 90 years old remain actively involved in business, agriculture, and religious affairs.
Tarahumara Indians: Their diet is largely plant-based, consisting of fresh, minimally processed foods. They are known for their running ability and dedication to health and physical activity.
The health secrets of these people can be seen as: 1. Consuming fresh, minimally processed foods such as fish, meat, dairy products, fruits, vegetables, whole-grain bread, and cereals; 2. Moderating consumption of certain potentially harmful foods such as spirits, coffee, tea, refined fats, starches, and sugars; 3. Engaging in moderate to strenuous physical activity.
