Sugar-free drinks don't necessarily lead to weight loss

Many new beverages on the market this year are marketed as "healthy," while others specifically target women's desire to lose weight. Nutrition experts point out that low-fat, low-sugar does not necessarily mean low-calorie; drinking too much of these beverages may not lead to weight loss.

Professor Lü, a specialist in food research, points out that many people assume sugar-free foods are completely free of sugar. In reality, "sugar-free" means that it does not contain sucrose. However, the absence of sucrose does not mean it is sugar-free. For example, some sugar-free foods are made from grains, which are polysaccharides and can be broken down into sucrose and glucose in the body. Therefore, when choosing sugar-free beverages, you should also check the ingredient list to see the components and what type of sweetener is used.

Regarding vegetable and whole-grain beverages, some nutritionists believe that bitter melon has the effect of clearing heat and detoxifying, making bitter melon drinks suitable for women to drink in the summer; pumpkin contains dietary fiber, which has certain benefits for women's weight loss and beauty. In addition, regarding fruit vinegar for weight loss, which many women are concerned about, there is currently no conclusion in the nutrition community. Although fruit vinegar drinks on the market can aid digestion after consumption, they can also irritate the stomach and intestines, so they should not be consumed excessively at one time.
