Yiguan Jian: From "Liu Zhou Medical Talk." Composed of Astragalus membranaceus, Ophiopogon japonicus, Angelica sinensis, Rehmannia glutinosa, Lycium barbarum, and Melia azedarach. It primarily treats liver and kidney yin deficiency, blood dryness, and qi stagnation. Mainly used for chest and flank pain, heartburn and bitter vomiting, dry throat and mouth, red tongue with little saliva, thin or weak pulse, and hernia aggregation.
Erchen Decoction: From "Taiping Huimin Heji Ju Fang." Composed of Pinellia ternata, Citrus reticulata, Poria cocos, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. It primarily treats damp phlegm cough. Mainly used for excessive white and easily expectorated phlegm, chest tightness and stuffiness, nausea and vomiting, limb fatigue, or dizziness, palpitations, white and moist tongue coating, and slippery pulse. Others include Er Miao Powder and Er Zhi Pills.
Sanren Decoction: From "Wenbing Tiaobian." Composed of apricot kernel, talc, Tetrapanax papyrifer, white cardamom seed, bamboo leaf, Magnolia officinalis, Coix lacryma-jobi, and Pinellia ternata. It primarily treats the initial stages of damp-warmth disease and summer-heat with dampness. Mainly used for headache, chills, body aches, pale yellow complexion, chest tightness and lack of appetite, white tongue without thirst, and stringy, thin, and moist pulse. Others include Sanzi Yangqin Decoction, Sanjia Fumulai Decoction, Sansheng Powder, Sanceng Huixiang Pills, Sanmiao Pills, San'ao Decoction, Sanwu Beiji Pills, and Sanbi Decoction.
Sijunzi Decoction: From "Taiping Huimin Heji Ju Fang." Composed of Ginseng, Atractylodes macrocephala, Poria cocos, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. It primarily treats spleen and stomach qi deficiency. Mainly used for pale complexion, weak voice, weakness in the limbs, poor appetite, loose stools, pale tongue, and weak pulse. Others include Sisheng Pills, Simiao Pills, Simiao Yong'an Decoction, Siwu Decoction, Siling Powder, Si Ni Decoction, Sishen Pills, and Simo Decoction.
Wuhufuifeng Powder: From "Shi Chuan Enjia Chuan Fang." Composed of cicada slough, Arisaema amurense, Gastrodia elata, scorpion, silkworm, and cinnabar. It primarily treats tetanus, trismus, hand and foot spasms, and opisthotonos. Others include Wuren Pills, Wupi Powder, Wumei Disinfectant Drink, Wuling Powder, Wushen Decoction, Wuji Powder, Wulin Powder, and Wumo Drink.
Liuwei Dihuang Pills: From "Xia'er Yaozheng Zhijue." Composed of prepared rehmannia, Cornus officinalis, Dioscorea opposita, Alisma orientale, Poria cocos, and Paeonia moutan. It primarily treats liver and kidney yin deficiency. Mainly used for soreness of the waist and knees, dizziness, tinnitus, night sweats, and seminal emission. Others include Liujunzi Decoction, Liu Yi Powder, and Liuhe Decoction.
Qibao Meiran Dan: From "Medical Prescription Examination." Composed of Polygonum multiflorum, Poria cocos, Lycium barbarum, Cynomorium songaricum, Angelica sinensis, Cuscuta chinensis, and prepared paper. It primarily treats liver and kidney deficiency. Mainly used for premature graying of hair, loose teeth, nocturnal emission, and soreness of the waist and knees. Others include Qiwai Baizhu Powder and Qili Powder.
Bazhen Decoction: From "Zhengti Leiyao." Composed of Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong, Paeonia lactiflora, prepared rehmannia, Ginseng, Poria cocos, Atractylodes macrocephala, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. It primarily treats both qi and blood deficiency. Mainly used for pale or sallow complexion, dizziness, fatigue in the limbs, shortness of breath, listlessness, palpitations, decreased appetite, pale tongue, thin white coating, and weak pulse. Others include Bazheng Powder.
Jiwei Qiang Huo Decoction: From "This Matter is Difficult to Know." Composed of Notopterygium incisum, Saposhnikovia divaricata, Atractylodes lancea, Asarum sieboldii, Angelica dahurica, Rehmannia glutinosa, Scutellaria baicalensis, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, and Chuanxiong. It primarily treats wind-cold-damp evil. Mainly used for chills and fever, lack of perspiration on the skin surface, headache and neck stiffness, soreness and pain in the limbs, and bitter mouth and thirst. Others include Jiuxian Powder.
Shiquan Dabubo Decoction: From "Taiping Huimin Heji Ju Fang." Composed of Astragalus membranaceus, Cinnamomum cassia, Angelica sinensis, Chuanxiong, Paeonia lactiflora, prepared rehmannia, Ginseng, Poria cocos, Atractylodes macrocephala, and Glycyrrhiza uralensis. It primarily treats qi and blood deficiency, consumptive cough, poor appetite, seminal emission, weakness in the legs and knees, non-healing sores, and metrorrhagia in women. Others include Shihui Powder, Shibu Pills, Shiwei Wendan Decoction, and Shizao Decoction.
