Traditional Chinese medicine believes that people with excess heat and toxins in their bodies are more susceptible to warm and hot pathogens, leading to influenza.
For this group of people, the primary measure for influenza prevention is to use cold and cool substances to clear heat and drain fire, avoid spicy and hot foods, protect the stomach qi, and especially consume foods with a cool nature, such as tomatoes. Tomatoes are slightly cool in nature, sweet and sour in taste, and enter the spleen, stomach, and kidney meridians. Their rich vitamin C and lycopene provide excellent antioxidant properties and enhance the body's immunity.
Other fruits and vegetables that can be chosen include bananas, cabbage, cucumbers, bitter melons, and various edible fungi. Reduce consumption of high-fat and high-sugar foods, and avoid sudden changes in temperature.
